Grief Support

After facing the death of a loved one, life can feel extremely challenging. Coping skills that have worked for us in the past may fall far short of what we need when we’re grieving. Many people say they feel as if they’re under water, turned upside down, or as if they’ve lost themselves and there is no
map that could give them direction.

Here at Agape, we understand the challenges facing those grieving the loss of a loved one and are available to support you.  Bereavement services are available at no charge and are open to anyone in need, even if hospice care was not provided by Agape Hospice and Palliative Care.  These services include support via the phone, short-term grief counseling, grief support groups and educational materials. Everyone experiences grief differently, yet finding similarities in others and support with those who have also grieved can help ease many of the emotions that come with a loss. It helps to know that there are others nearby who understand your experience.

Please contact our Bereavement department at (720) 482-1988 to talk with a grief counselor and find out more about the support we can offer.

“Each time I cope with a surge of deep sadness, despair, yearning, or longing that overtakes my whole being, I will remember that it is that same wave that eventually will diminish my pain.  The waves wash in and over me, but they do not drown me.  Each wave of emotion, is, in fact healing me”.
